From Kerali village in Koppal to the national stage, Huligesha found strength, community and purpose through wheelchair cricket with DMSA — and dreams of becoming India's next top batsman.
Told in Huligesha’s own words

Chapter 1 · Roots
Roots and early life
Huligesha grew up in Kerali village, Koppal, in a family of five with parents, a brother and a sister, with a locomotive disability from birth affecting both hands and legs.
Life before sport was quiet, navigating the barriers a person with a disability faces in a rural setting. Family was a steady anchor, and those early years built a resilience that would later define Huligesha on the pitch.
Chapter 2 · Turning point
Discovering wheelchair cricket
While exploring YouTube, Huligesha came across DMSA and wheelchair cricket. Seeing others with disabilities play sparked an instant connection, and Huligesha reached out straight away.
The academy became the gateway to a structured sporting community — and a casual online discovery became a lifelong passion.
With DMSA
How DMSA stood with Huligesha
DMSA opened doors that had been closed: the support to play, a community where athletes with disabilities thrive, and a platform to show talent on regional and national stages. Huligesha speaks often of deep gratitude for that support.

- A supportive community for athletic growth
Chapter 3 · On the field
On the cricket pitch
A proudest moment came at Huligesha's first national tournament: a high-stakes match against Odisha, with the team taking home the runner-up trophy.
Training hard through the physical demands of the game, Huligesha has become a determined all-rounder.
It was my first national tournament, and we won the runner-up trophy against Odisha. I felt so proud.
